Festivals And Ceremonies In Maru For Turbanning Of First Koguna

The ceremonies of turbanning first Kogunan Maru featured a large procession of more than a hundreds horsemen dressed in colorful costumes followed by camels, musicians and dancers in a carnival like atmosphere. The horses are equally decorated with silver and gold ornaments to complement the colors and importance of the rider.

The procession is watched by hundreds of on lookers lined up in the streets cheering the participants. The mornings are spent watching various cultural dances and displays of musical talents, at  Maru Emir’s palace, on friday 27th June 2014.
